From Obama’s lips to Bush’s ear
First there was talking with Iran (appeasement). Then there was a coherent exit strategy (cut and run). Now, the Bush administration seems to be following Obama’s call for a push into Pakistan, to find bin Laden in “the cave where he lives.”
Two theories: 1.) Bush and McCain, in cahoots, assume that the president is SO unpopular that they can convince Americans that it’s he and Obama, not he and McCain, who are mirror images. 2.) Bush assumes Obama will win, and hopes to ease the awkward cocktail talk between presidents by going against his “gut,” dealing in reality and making himself, in hindsight, look like the ultimate Obamacon.
