I got skillz… they’re just not very practical.
Wii news from Justin’s living room:
Small group turned into Wii party last night, as only one couple showed up. I dominated in Wii Sports bowling, though it wasn’t my best effort… prior to the meeting, I bowled a personal-best 207! My bud Casey and I also took turns at Super Mario World; though my performance was hampered by the presence of onlookers, I later got about 15 1-Ups (or is it Ones-Up?) on a single level, helping me rejuvenate what was a tired and weary Mario.
I’m still “watching” a very reasonably priced copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee on eBay… the auction ends tomorrow morning, so hopefully I’ll be able to take a break from work for a few minutes to do some intense bidding. Meanwhile, my N64 still has zero bids, but one person is watching it, and I expect carnage to ensue the last day or so of the auction.
BTW, the pic above is of Wario—evil twin? nemesis? I’ve never been sure—a screen shot from his upcoming appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If you’ve never played a Super Smash Bros. game, you’re really missing out… it’s a fighter in the vein of Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, except with classic Nintendo characters and no blood. It’s just really fun—wacky, even—and not overly complicated. It’s kind of like billiards: simple enough for beginners to have fun, but with a world of nuance for anyone who’s willing to dig a bit deeper.

Smah Bros is the best! Holt and I have spent many an hour on that game. The new version coming out for Wii (Brawl, I think) is going to be intense. So many freaking characters… graphics look insane… but the gameplay looks the same! Which is what made it a great, fast-paced game. They have trailers online. Check it out!
